LIFE//A Charitable Treat By Our BFF’s At BGSK

We should start by saying that if we had a LOVE// section of the gamine, this post would fit more appropriately beneath that header. It describes so much of what we feel for both the girls and the goodies behind this post.

As you know, our lifelong best friends Cara & Phoebe hold down the fort at our favorite go-to cooking blog, Big Girls, Small Kitchen. Through the years, we’ve been lucky enough to be their dinner party guests, taste-testers, the subject of a sweet and touching blog post on couples who cook together, and of course their number one fans. We owe all of our kitchen skills to them – they were the first ones to show us that cooking doesn’t have to be as daunting as we once though it was. More than anything, we’ve been privileged to sample their wide assortment of baked goods. Whether it be chocolate bark, brownies, or Yes Pecan! Cookies, they have never once disappointed.

Luckily, this week, anyone with a sweet tooth can sample their delicious concoctions because apart from their culinary talents, these two chefs have a taste for charity as well. Baking For Good, an awesome gifting site for all sorts of yummy treats, donates 15% of every purchase to the cause of a customer’s choosing. The site is hosting a special virtual bake sale from April 19th thru May 9th and BGSK is selling Peanut M&M Blondies with proceeds going to The Valerie Fund – an organization in the tri-state area that provides comprehensive health care for children with cancer and blood disorders. These bad boys not only taste good but they look like mini works of art!
