We want to fly to Paris right now! The Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective is on at the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and it definitely warrants a quick flight to the city of lights (if only we could). The exhibition features 15 rooms organized thematically and covers his entire oeuvre from his famous Trapeze collection in 1958 through his late career. The exhibition focuses on how Saint Laurent used fashion to empower women and blurs the lines between fashion and art. You can go through the whole exhibition here or watch the video from the AP above. Obviously, we would rather attend in person in an effortlessly chic ensemble and perhaps with the Coco Chanel suite at the Ritz booked in our name. We love the Mondrian inspired dress from 1965 and nothing could be more fabulous than a gold lame gown from 1981 or a 70′s menswear inspired suit. This post will just have to do since it doesn’t look like we will make it to Paris this weekend!

Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective at the Petit Palais is on view through August 29, 2010…so maybe we can make it to Paris by then!
